Meeting New Families

A few weeks back (sorry it has taken so long to post this) we had a wonderful time meeting several new families from around the Maritimes - each having adopted a child (or more) from Africa. This group meets every year, and it wasn't that long ago that it was only 3 families with 3 kids. Now it's almost a new nation!

Most of the children were from Ethiopia and only Epimaque and Maliah were from Rwanda, but we know some families that are trying to adopt from Rwanda so maybe next year they can help bolster the Rwandan contingent!

And all topped off with an incredible Ethiopian supper. mmmmm.....

3 sleeps to a new milestone!

It's hard to believe. In 3 sleeps Epimaque will be turning 4 years old!

This time last year I was counting down the days to my last day at work so I could spend a couple of weeks doing last minute work around the house before leaving for Rwanda. This time last year we were so excited to be heading off to Africa. This time last year there were so many unknowns. This time last year we didn't have Epimaque!

And now here we are, coming up to this wonderful celebration. It will be an adventure all in itself. He had never had a celebration all about him, so this will be quite a day.

Our friend Sarah has been planning out an amazing cake for the last couple of weeks, bursting at the seams and ready to bake! We'll make sure we post a photo.

Anyway, we are just so happy this is where we are at. What a blessing.
